What to expect?
In this experience, you will visit a unique archaeological site to understand the subtle relationship between death, life, and nature in the Andean world. The way the sky reflects on the water, along with the surrounding stillness and silence, speaks volumes. The historical journey connects with the present through meaningful interaction with our hosts from the Hatun Qolla community, where we’ll enjoy a homemade lunch prepared with local ingredients.

Itinerary
Sillustani, Hatuy Qolla and Umayo (– / L / –)
With stunning highland landscapes and imposing pre-Inca architecture, The Sillustani burial complex is located 22.3 miles away from the city of Puno. The site is strategically positioned on the top of a peninsula surrounded by a beautiful lagoon called Umayo lagoon.
The creators of the imposing burial towers are known as the Qolla people. The most imposing burial towers were built for the chiefs and priests. You can feel the energy that emanates from this site. Many people come to appreciate this unique view of the vast highland surrounded by the Andean mountains and the beautiful lagoon
Local residents are the descendants of the Qollas, pertaining to the Qolla People between 1200 AC and 1400 BC in the highland region of Peru. The Qollas rose to power following the collapse of the Tiahuanaco culture of the 12th century. The Incas later conquered them.
